Joseph Carl Robnett Licklider (1915 - 1990)
Visionary that developed the idea of a universal network of computers, evangelized his vision throughout the Information Processing Techniques Office (IPTO) - where he served as the first director - and inspired his successors to realize this dream through the creation of the ARPANET - which later became the Internet.
